Blue Donkey has been rated as STRONG in new analysis of the UK’s 234 leading Call Centre companies. The Plimsoll Analysis (January 2019) also reveals Blue Donkey among the fastest growing in the market. Blue Donkey are proud to announce that we have been awarded the coveted Ely Standard Innovation Award, having made it to the finals in several different categories. Our innovative approach to telemarketing, client support, loyal client base, and dedication to quality have all been commended by the judges, read on to find out more about our success and what the judges had to say about Blue Donkey.
Backdrop to the awards ceremony
In Ely and the surrounding area, the Ely Standard awards took place. Committed to recognising the most innovative and hard working companies in the east Cambridgeshire area, the awards ceremony took place on the 28th September in the beautiful Ely Cathedral. A celebration of local business talent, the awards were a wonderful opportunity for professionals from Cambridgeshire to come together and acknowledge the companies pushing the boundaries of business.
Held in the spectacular surroundings of Ely Cathedral, the Ely Standard Business Awards hosted over 250 guests, with many of the region’s top businesses in attendance. As well as company owners and other professionals, a number of local dignitaries and business leaders were also there on the night.
Blue Donkey and the Ely Standard Business Awards
This year, Blue Donkey was a finalist in three categories at the Ely Standard Business Awards. We were lucky enough to win one of our categories, receiving the Ely Standard Innovation Award. Designed to showcase businesses that can demonstrate how they’ve adapted, improved and innovated their services to meet changing demand and evolving challenges, the award is one of the most prestigious at the event.
Our success at the award ceremony in this prestigious category relies on several different factors. We are lucky to have an incredibly talented and hardworking team behind us. Our wonderful team of experienced telemarketing professionals, dedicated to working hard towards unrivalled quality for our clients, has allowed Blue Donkey to flourish, building on success upon success, over the past decade. Our team’s dedication to creatively responding to the challenges of the telemarketing sphere has spurred a culture powered by successful innovation.
In addition, we pride ourselves on a challenging and inspiring work environment, in which we celebrate using our skills and talents to provide a powerful telemarketing service for our loyal client base. Our dedication to our excellent quality management system, rather than a sole profit motive, drives a business that sees results. This is why we believe that we have amassed such a loyal base of repeat clients over the years.
As one of the most well-known businesses in the category, the judges were impressed by how Blue Donkey has continued to raise its standards over the years. As a judge for the Ely Standard put it, Blue Donkey “has innovative processes to maintain and develop their position in the corporate world and are worthy winners of this category.”
As finalists, judges commended our excellent performance in terms of providing highly-supportive customer service. We are known for our open dialogue and ability to respond intuitively to the unique needs, pain points, and business goals of every one of our clients. As always, we seek to provide clients with the highest level of service.
Our dedication to these areas of business have ensured that we are one of the most successful and resilient companies in our sector. We are strongly committed to innovation and quality management as a key focus for building a successful business that’s still winning awards after 21 years trading.
Although we tend to focus more on what we’re doing than how our competitors are performing, it’s always good to hear that Blue Donkey is ahead of the pack when it comes to professional performance. Not only does coming out on top of the pile show that we’re doing something right, it also demonstrates that our techniques, marketing philosophies and talented telemarketers are really making a difference. A validation of our approach, this rating is great news for our clients and for everyone who works at Blue Donkey.
Plimsoll Analysis regularly carries out research into the UK’s leading businesses. This research highlights companies that are struggling, those that are ripe for takeover and the businesses that are out performing their competitors. As Plimsoll Publishing says, “The model highlights the latest performance of each company and separates those in trouble from those getting it right.” The information provided in Plimsoll reports helps to inform businesses in multiple industries and is considered a reliable indicator of the health of a sector.
Plimsoll reports highlight the areas in which each company excels and what weaknesses they may have. It also shows how they have performed over the past four years. As a result of the analysis they carry out, Plimsoll is able to provide a rating of Strong, Good, Mediocre, Caution, or Danger. These ratings can expose the truth behind company performance, showing which companies are stagnating and which are pushing the boundaries of telemarketing.
Blue Donkey rated ‘strong’
Plimsoll Analysis recently carried out research into the UK’s 240 largest call centres. As a result of this research, Blue Donkey Ltd was rated as strong, the highest accolade available. This is especially impressive as the past few years have been a challenging time in the industry, with record numbers of other call centres struggling to find their feet and adapt to the rapidly changing marketplace.
This success is largely down to our unique attitude and our skilled and talented team. Unlike other call centres, we take an innovative and modern approach to telemarketing and are always looking for ways to improve on our techniques and get better results for our clients. This constant improvement and development helps Blue Donkey to remain at the forefront of telemarketing and helps to ensure that we always get impressive results from our campaigns.

Last week Blue Donkey celebrated a very important milestone: our 20th birthday. We are proud of successfully trading for two decades, an unusual achievement for a small family business. And we couldn’t have done it without our lovely clients and the wonderful army of Blue Donkey champions who, year after year, have recommended us to their friends.
Teenager no more
As Blue Donkey turns twenty, we leave our teenage years behind and march forward towards our quarter-century. Way back in 1997, we set out to meet the emerging intelligent telemarketing needs of local high-tech companies. Basically, we wanted to make the calls they would make themselves if they had the training, the teams, and time to do so. We’ve helped our clients navigate a changing telemarketing industry and several recessions. Over the years we’ve honed our skills and aided hundreds of businesses in improving their marketing and communication skills.
A Trusted Partner
Although hitting the two-decade mark is an achievement, we are more excited about what the future holds. Blue Donkey is the trusted brand in B2B marketing not because of our longevity, but because of our principles. We have not given into the temptation to become a volume operation. Our clients trust us to deliver a quality, bespoke service dial after dial.. This trust is worth its weight in gold, and we value it above all else.
Finding and maintaining success
Not only has Blue Donkey provided telemarketing services for 20 years, we’ve succeeded in creating impressive results for several clients. We’ve been able to build on our early success to create a business that offers real value to companies around the country.
We’ve gained both ISO:9001 and IIP accreditations, maintained exceptional levels of customer service and customer care and worked hard to ensure we’re always at least one step ahead of the competition. Throughout the past two-decades we’ve remained a stable and innovative voice in the world of telemarketing and have continued to build on our experience, our expertise, and our success to create a company that can intuitively meet a client’s telemarketing needs and produce results.
People help to make Blue Donkey what it is today
Over the years, Blue Donkey has been lucky enough to work with some truly exceptional people. Many are still part of our team today, while others have gone into new roles where we are proud that they’ve continued to build good careers using the blend of unique skills mastered at Blue Donkey.
Looking to the future
Although we have two decades under our belt, we know we can’t be complacent. In the coming years we’ll continue to work tirelessly to maintain our high standards, improve both customer and staff satisfaction even further and retain all clients that use our services.
If you think your company could benefit from our 20 years of experience in the telemarketing industry, give us a call and find out exactly how we can help your business to achieve its goals.
Blue Donkey were awarded second place in the Training and Development award at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards. Winners were announced during a ceremony at the Huntingdon Marriott Hotel in Huntingdon and the evening’s host, Jules Breach, welcomed us to the stage at what was a really exciting evening.
The SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards were open to all sole traders and businesses in the region with less than 250 employees. The awards were considered an opportunity to raise the profile of hardworking and enterprising businesses in Cambridgeshire and it’s a huge honour for Blue Donkey to be nominated in the training and development category.
We love sharing in the success of other passionate businesses and the awards ceremony gave our talented team a chance to celebrate in their success and receive recognition for their commitment to the work we do.
Preparations are already underway for next year’s awards and we’ll be working as hard as ever to make sure we’re able to once again stand on stage alongside some of the most successful and hardworking companies in Cambridgeshire.
